Visits by day

Each time the map is opened. Visitors are counted once a day without cookies, so the same person on two days counts twice.

Map views saved as share links (layers, map position, timetable, stations, track and works), and how often shared links were opened.

Show as a table

Layers turned on

Share of visits that switched each layer on. Railway, population and jobs start on, so they count only when turned back on.

Pages and tools

Share of visits that used each part of the planner.

Guided tours

Tours started, finished to the last step, or closed early.

Time with the map

How long visits lasted.

Devices

From the kind of screen, not the device model.

Where visits came from

The site that linked to the map; "Direct" includes typed addresses, bookmarks and most apps.

Where visitors are

Province or state in Canada and the US, country elsewhere.

How this is counted

The planner sends a small, anonymous note when it opens and when someone uses a feature, at most once per feature a visit. There are no cookies and nothing is stored in your browser. Your address is never saved: visitors are counted with a one-way scrambled code that changes every day and is deleted after two days, so visits can't be linked from one day to the next. Nothing is sent if your browser asks sites not to track you (Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control). Saved views are counted from the share links themselves, including those made before these counts began.
